Here is my newest painting, Twillingate, NL... at 24x23 inches, this is a larger size for me! This painting was inspired by my trip to Newfoundland in May of 2014 with my sister Amy. The view depicted here is from outside our hotel, looking across to South Twillingate.
Visiting in May, we had the opportunity to see a number of icebergs (Twillingate is renowned for it’s icebergs) and even went out on a boat tour to see the bergs up close. One of the highlights of the trip was “ice fishing”. Now this was not your typical ice fishing. Twillingate ice fishing entails collecting “bergie bits” with a net from the side of the boat. We felt extra classy that night having some bergie bits in our drinks!!
In other news, I participated in the "Off the Wall" Art show last weekend. It was a great day (besides my nasty cold). I have included some photos for your viewing pleasure! You can see many more pictures on the "Off the Wall" website!
Hello all! Hope you are having a great summer.
In the spirit of summer, I wanted to share with you the following event that I will be involved with next Sunday July 19:
Given this is the first outdoor art show I have participated in, I am both excited and nervous (much of my spare time has been devoted to a "what if" list). Despite the huge learning curve, I have had so much fun preparing for the show. As of today - I am pretty close to ready... I just have one large painting to finish up.
For anyone in the Southwestern Ontario area, I would be delighted if you came out. I will be just one of over 45 talented artists (click here to see list of artists). My booth with be near the vineyard where I will also be doing some plein air demo. If you do make it out, make sure to stop by my booth to say "hi"!!
Onwards, inspired by the Ferry trip between Vancouver and BC, is a commission I painted for a wonderful collector from Alberta. On a side note, I just booked a flight to head back out west to see my sister Amy this October! Got a pretty good deal on a flight through WestJet. Excited! Happy weekend everyone.
I believe art is meant to be shared. I am a Canadian landscape painter that works primary in oils & acrylics. I create works both en plein air & in the studio.
