Day 2 is here... along with my second painting! I think this painting is pretty timely given the leaves around London are starting to change colour (it's only September 2... at this rate, maybe I'll be doing a snow scene by the end of this challenge).
This painting was inspired by a photo my mom and dad snapped while at their cabin in northern Ontario (about an hour past Sudbury). The brilliant red tree amongst the other green trees was so striking. It also lent itself well to trying a new painting technique ... starting with a red undertone... an interesting experiment. I also was able to integrate a fair bit of negative painting.
I believe art is meant to be shared. I am a Canadian landscape painter that works primary in oils & acrylics. I create works both en plein air & in the studio.
