I am very excited to share today’s painting, along with a truly lovely story (I was actually a little teary when I received Darlene’s email). This is Strider, a handsome fella that Darlene rescued from All Breeds Canine Rescue Centre. Here is Darlene and Strider’s story:
“For the size of Strider 65 lbs, he is the best dog I have ever rescued, he loves people and animals. He is 2 years old now and loves to play with my daughter's Chihuahua Chewy. At our vet's office there is a cat and when we go, the cat comes out and sits on a chair and Strider goes over and gives him kisses. This year I tried to get him to do the Dock Dive at Pawlooza and he got to the end of the dock and stopped and would not go any further. Strider loves the water but has to have his 4 paws touching bottom, he runs and jumps but if he can't touch bottom he goes no further. I can't say how much he has enriched my life and I do believe he rescued me and not the other way around… he greets me everyday when I come home from work with his toy in his mouth just so happy to see me.”
I believe art is meant to be shared. I am a Canadian landscape painter that works primary in oils & acrylics. I create works both en plein air & in the studio.
