A Quiller Workshop!

Hello friends!  I have been home from the Stephen Quiller workshop for a couple of weeks now.  Sorry for the delay in posting (I'll blame jet leg mixed with a bit of the flu).  Anyway, what can I say about the work shop other than it was AMAZING!  Stephen, his family, the other workshop attendees, and the 4UR Ranch were all top notch.

Check out the following photos to get a glimpse into my week at the workshop (I've also included photos of some of my paintings!)
Needless to say, the scenery wasn't too shabby!
Here is Stephen and his lovely daughter Allison (a talented film maker).
We had the honour of going to Stephen's house one night for dinner. I aspire to have a home like his... so much beautiful art!
This is a photo of the main lodge at 4UR Ranch.
Here is Stuart showing off his painting to his new buds -- Janet and Kay.
Here's Stuart getting a close up look at one of Steve's demo paintings!
Being a bonafide morning person, I quite enjoyed our daily 6:00 am hikes.
With a 5-star chef at the ranch preparing 3 meals a day... needless to say, the food was fantastic!
Here we are getting a private tour of Stephen's gallery.
This is one of my favourite paintings from the tour.
A painting by the late Robert Genn (a well known Canadian painter) at Stephen's house! Apparently they were quite good friends. So cool!!
Here are some of the paintings I completed during the workshop:
Race Rocks in Sunlight. Watercolour and casein on paper, 5x10 inches.
Trout River Habour, Newfoundland. Acrylic on watercolour board, 9x10.5 inches.
Dorchester Snow Shadows, acrylic on aquaboard, 12x16 inches.
Newfoundland Above. Caesin on watercolour board, 9x14 inches.
LHSC sunrise. Acrylic and caesin on watercolour paper, 4.5x10 inches.

Workshops are the best way to earn a new skill. When I was young, I attended every workshop that I can get my hands on. Well, I never actually graduated from school, so I believed that going to workshops were my best bet to learn. Today, I have a lot of skills that I use to improve my life. I am even able to work part time whenever I have problems financially. It is not about your education, it is about the work you put it in.
