A Stroll Down Riverview WalkwayToday's painting features a scenic portion of Riverview Walkway in St. Marys. This particular portion of the path is parallel to the historic Mill Race. According to HistoricPlaces.ca, here is a little fun history on the Mill Race: "The Mill Race was constructed in 1864 of large, locally-quarried course limestone blocks, to form a channel alongside the Thames River, to provide power to local mills. Since its construction, the Mill Race has seen many changes, the first of which was only shortly after its construction. In order to allow the Mill Race to pass under Queen Street to the mills to the south, its course was altered and an additional small arch was built on the eastern end of the Victoria Bridge, in 1865."
