Hearn's Ice Cream, St. Marys

Who doesn't love ice cream?  

Today's painting features one of the best ice cream shops in Southern Ontario - Hearn's Ice Cream.

Interesting fact... before ice cream, Hearn's was a Dairy (owned by Kelly Hearn). The farmers would bring in the milk and it was pasteurized and bottled. It was loaded on a horse drawn wagon and delivered to customers around town. Some of you St. Mary's folks may still  remember the milk man - Cliff Elliott. The empty bottles of milk had a ticket or token in them, and were replaced by a full quart of milk. Lots of fond memories for a much simpler time.
