Today's painting, one of the larger pieces I will do during this challenge, features the same barn from day 1 (at a different angle). If you love old barns, comment below ... share a word, a story, or a sentiments that captures your feelings towards these old, rustic barns! I'd love to hear from you! Change is inevitableIn the spirit of honouring rustic old barns and their evolution over time, I have included some aerial photos of how my parent's dairy barn has changed over the years.

I love old barns because of the history. The stories they could tell, the continuity of a family living in one place through generations. I think it is great that people now salvage old barn wood for use in new homes. Seems a shame to just destroy it when it is no longer safe.

I have the recording called...OLD BARNS, and it talks about how a city dude stopped by a farmers home and asked him how much he would take for it since it was so beautiful. The Old Farmer said he couldn't see what was so beautiful about that old beaten down weathered barn until the Young Man told him he wanted the Wood to decorate his new Homes living room walls. Brought back an old cliche' I used to hear a lot..."ONE MAN'S JUNK IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE"!
