"Drawing is the 'bones' of art. You have to be able to walk before you can run." ~Dion Archibald
Welcome to 2016... Happy new years friends. Hope everyone rang in the new year safely and enjoyably! My evening included delicious homemade pasta, a mean game of euchre, and streaming the ball drop on my Mac. Now that the new year is here - time to think about my art goals! One of my major goals for this upcoming year is to improve the quality of my work. It is with that intention in mind that I start my fourth 30-in-30 challenge. Thanks to Leslie Saeta for hosting! I am much more comfortable with a paint brush and colourful paints than with a pencil and paper. It is my beleif that in order to really propel the quality of my work forward - I need to face my drawing demons. And maybe I'll learn to love it a long the way....? I am currently enrolled in an online atelier drawing program (Watts Atelier of the Arts) - focussing on drawing. Great program so far with rich content and helpful assignments. Here is the scoop on what this January will bring:
Without further adieu.... here is my Day 1 sketch.
